GrandVictoria
Casino
Elgin, Illinois
Renovated: September 2002
Retro-fit of new Media Matrix DSP technology into existing casino
systems. Switched Fiber-optic network linking two Media Matrix systems on-shore
and on-ship for this Riverboat based gaming facility.
Grand Victoria is a Riverboat based casino just outside of Chicago, opened
in 1997 with conventional analog technology. SAVI was asked to provide a state
of the art DSP-computer based sound system control to be retro-fit into this
existing facility without shutting down the existing operation.
SAVI designed a 48-zone music and paging system developed around two Media Matrix
NT computers. One system controls the land-based facility with restaurants, VIP
lounges and shops, the other system controls the ship based casino areas. The two
systems are linked by a fiber-optic switched network. Portable wireless Ethernet
control and SIA Smaart analysis was utilized in the set up of the systems.
